Marion Community Athletic Association has completed plans for the months of activity ahead, and reports that Keith Mueller of Durham will return as the Summer Youth Program activity director again this year.

The Jesse West Dairy, a longtime supplier of raw milk and cream to Marion customers, last week was certified as a “Grade A” producer by the Marion County Health Department. The West Dairy, which was established in 1914, has been a town institution, and many of today’s young men got early training working on Jesse’s route delivering milk.

The following Marion people were among those in Wichita Tuesday evening to attend the Jose and Amparo Iturbi twin piano concert at the Forum: Mr. and Mrs. S.W. Gound, Mr. and Mrs. John Riddle, Dr. and Mrs. G.J. Goodsheller, Mrs. Roger Hannaford and Mary, Mrs. Bert McCullough, Mrs. Bill Ward and Alice, Mrs. Ira Newcomer, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Batt, and Dr. and Mrs. T.C. Ensey.

Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Ehrlich entertained the following boys at dinner Monday evening in celebration of the birthday of their son, Robert: Tommy Druse, Donnie Kline, Homer Mohn, Max Hayen, Harold Shields, Leonard Smith, Ronnie Post, John Childs, and Wayne Hett.

County commissioners on Monday awarded the contract on a new automobile for the sheriff’s office to the low bidder, Bernhardt and Utting, Marion, and a four-door Pontiac.
