A large attendance of 141 persons enjoyed the dinner and speaker at the annual Chamber of Commerce Valentine banquet held Thursday evening in the city building basement. The speaker was Senor de la Rosa, authority on Latin-American relations.

A huge daylong attendance of interested persons, estimated at near 2,000 visited the newly refinished showroom and auto agency building of the Paul Seifert Motor Company Saturday.

Two of Marion County’s polio victims, nine-year-old Nadine Tiemeier of Lincolnville and 12-year-old Mary Ann Bina of Ramona, and Everett Burkhead, Marion blind boy, will receive the first three Al Jolson records to be given away at Kaw Theatre this weekend.

M.L. Hiebert, who with his family, came recently to live southwest of Marion is an experienced auctioneer. He conducts a sale each Saturday at the Peabody sales barn and is available for farm sales.

Mrs. Harold Keazer entertained with a party Feb. 16 in honor of Jimmy Jay’s fourth birthday. Guests were Mary Sue Reh, Jan Hayen, Dickie Wayne Varenhorst, Tommy Good, Louise, Irene, and Delphine Ford, Tommie Hayward, and Dickie Seifert.
