Mr. and Mrs. George King this week announce the opening of their new restaurant and inn at the Marion County Park and Lake. Under the name, “The Kingfisher’s Inn,” this attractive eating-place will have its formal opening this Friday, April 7.
Donna Powell and Coleen Vogel were among the 18 women who graduated April 1 from Research Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City. Miss Powell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Powell. Miss Vogel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Vogel.
Albert Klenda again has been selected as champion producer of DeKalb hybrid corn. His yield was 95.36 bushels per acre. This is his second year as corn king of the county.
The Spanish Club of Marion High School will host a Pan American banquet April 14 in the basement of the city building. The annual affair features three Latin American visitors including “Senor Louis Obarguln of LaPaz, Bolivia, who is known in his country as the “Jose Iturbi of Bolivia.”
