Everyone was surprised Saturday morning to find several inches of snow on the ground. Friday was a beautiful day with no hint of a storm. The snow came without wind so the trees hang full and everything is beautiful. The temperature dropped to 12 degrees by Sunday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Vogel were honored on their golden wedding anniversary Thursday evening when their family and the Strassburg church held an open house for them.
Outside decorations of Marion homes are expected to be more sparkling and attractive than ever this Christmas. The Christmas Fund committee is awarding cash prizes, according to Leslie Powell, chairman. Out of town judges will decide the winners a short time before Christmas.
Patty Sue Plenert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Plenert was honored with a party last Friday afternoon in celebration of her second birthday. Patty Sue’s mother served refreshments to Bruce and Bradley Schmidt, Mrs. Marvin Schmidt, Kenny and George Ann Gound, Mrs. Scottie G. Gound, Tammy Case, Mrs. Rosse B. Case, Wally Slusser, Mrs. Alden Slusser, Pat Costello and Susan Lentz.
Mrs. Kenneth Schwendiman was honoree at a pink and blue shower last Thursday evening. Mrs. Marion Reiswig and Mrs. Ivan Weibert were hostesses at the Schwendiman home.
