City workmen have started putting in place the first steel poles in the lighting program for business areas in the city. Workers pictured are Godfrey Beisel, Reuben Winters, Clarence Baxter, and Ralph Mathews.

A number of people from the Youngtown area attended the capping exercise at Halstead School of Nursing Friday evening when Marjory Collett received her cap.

Marion’s presentation at the annual CVL play festival Feb. 14 will be the one-act play, “The High Window.” Members of the cast include James Propp, John Newcomer, Mary Hannaford, Sarabel Wolf, and Dorothy Sandwell. All eight schools in the league will participate.

Births announced in this issue include Mark Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Collett, born Jan. 31, and Vincent Jay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Tharp born Feb. 2

The Tri-County Licensed Practical Nurses organization met Monday evening with Miss Bertha Kasler. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Lida Webster, Mrs. Mae Soyez, and Miss Kasler.

Janet Holub celebrated her 16th birthday Jan. 3. Guests for a line party at the theater, followed by a slumber party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Holub, were Marlys Rupp, Clarice Collett, Glenda Razor, Ginger Price, Marilyn Reh, Charlene Youk, Diana Herbert, and Karen Brodhead.
