Plans are being completed this week for a major appearance change on the south side of Main Street between Third and Fourth streets. Three old buildings will be torn down, the lot leveled and improved. These are buildings formerly occupied by a barbershop, cleaning establishment, and food market.

James Robert Meisner was eight years old Saturday so his mother, Mrs. James Meisner, asked a number of his friends in for the afternoon. Those present included Max and George Jackson, Karen Schroeder, Gerry Roberts, Larry Ford, Dennis Schroeder, Gary King, Mary Sue Reh, Janet Whitlock, Donna Sue Newsom, Dicky Wayne Varenhorst, Dicky Morse, Tommy Hayward, Bobby Klose and Raymond Remmers.

Dear Santa: I have been a good girl so will you bring me a bride doll, buggy and a suitcase for Christmas. I love you Santa. Patsy Warneke.

Jay Beaston, owner and manager of Beaston’s Market, has purchased the Winchester building across the street from his present location. This is the building formerly occupied by the Sanitary Market.

Mr. and Mrs. George King of Kingfisher’s Inn left Monday for Atlanta, Ga., to visit their son. They will go from there to Florida for the winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Kelsey will operate the Inn during their absence.

Karen Shull celebrated her 10th birthday Saturday afternoon with the following friends: Lucinda Hauser, Lou Esther Wheeler, Karen Thole, Sue Summervill, Carol Conyers, Margie Winters, Joyce Remmers, Anita and Deanna Gleason, Ruth Muck, and Bess Haizlip.
