So far, a total of 50 business places in Marion have signed up for the 13-week series of “Cash Days” to start in April.

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Florence celebrated its 75th anniversary on Wednesday of this week. During the 10 o’clock Mass, the Bishop administrated the sacraments of confirmation to over 50 young people and adults from Florence and Marion.

Ronnie and Donnie, twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Druse, entertained a number of their friends at their home on their 11th birthday. Invited were Gary Ford, Gerry Roberts, Jan Hayen, Billy Wheatley, Gary Weber, Steven Greenemeyer, Marion Good, Steven Collett, John Morse, Timmy Williams, Larry Burkholder, Kenneth Bowers, and Mike Childs.

Marion and a number of others towns along the 50-N Centennial Caravan route will select a queen to accompany the colorful centennial parade across Kansas. The winning candidate will compete for final selection May 10 in Mission, Kansas. The winner of that competition will have a featured spot in parades at each town as the caravan travels westward visiting Marion on the afternoon of May 13.
