Pictured are four Marion High School juniors selected this week to represent the school at the annual American Legion-sponsored Boys’ and Girls’ States in Lawrence. The students are Johnny Williams, Kenneth Gardner, Judy Thatch, and Carol Allen.
Mrs. Ray Longhofer entertained a number of school friends of her daughter, Pat, Monday after school in celebration of her birthday. Those present included Sharon Bartel, Patty Funk, Sharon Blankley, Karen Jost, Donna Jost, Rosalie Dohner, Ann Batt, Donna Haas, Julia Wooldridge, Lucinda Hauser, Janet Stiller, Judy Richards, Kay Love and Beverly Winter.
Thomas E. Duggan of Tampa is one of more than 120 Kansas State College juniors who will attend Army ROTC camps this summer for six weeks. He will be at the anti-aircraft artillery camp at Fort Bliss, Texas.
“One Foot in Heaven” is the title of the senior class play to be given at the city auditorium April 30. John Childs and Pat Kruse are the principal characters. Others involved are Donna Speer, Ginger Price, Carol Jean Schambron, Glenda Razor, Karen Brodhead, Nancy Broadstreet, Marilyn Reh, Joan Klein, Lois Hiebert, Joe Sklenar, Ronnie Post, Roger Pankratz, Don Kline, Jerry Griffin, Aaron Beisel, Max Hayen, and Robert Ehrlich.
