The home of Mr. and Mrs. John Sloup at 611 N. Freeborn is this week’s featured new home in Marion. The house was planned for efficiency with no waste space and every inch used throughout for some useful purpose. Bernal Johnson of Marion was the builder.
Case and Son agency in Marion made announcement this week of the re-opening of their real estate department that was discontinued several years ago because of shortage of personnel. Alex Case Jr., who has just returned from the service, will be in charge of the department.
The senior class of Marion High School will present the 3-act comedy, “Father Knows Best,” April 21 in the city auditorium. Main parts will be played by John Williams, Judy Thatch, Carolyn Merrill, Ken Gardner and Janet Priddle. Supporting roles will be played by Elsie Smith, Rose Marie Holub, Anita Kline, Pat Hart, Jerry Richards, Bob Mehlinger, Verlin Meier, Joe Dvorak, Leon Lais, Laurence Griggs, Paul Roberts, Ann Davies, Carol Allen, Wanda Propp and John Tuell.
Mrs. Roger Hannaford announces the engagement of her daughter, Mary, to Robert W. Exline, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Exline Jr. of Salina. No wedding date has been set.
James R. Criswell, music director at Ellis, has been hired to fill that position at Marion schools next year.
