Chamber of Commerce is offering cash awards this year totaling $107 to be divided into ten awards to Christmas decoration winners. First prize will be $25. In addition, the city has agreed to give an 80% reduction in all electricity used during the month of Dec. 15 to Jan. 15 in excess of the previous month’s billing. Participants must register at the City Clerk’s office.

Orders have been received at the Marion post office to prepare to handle postal service to Pilsen patrons beginning Jan. 1. The post office there, which serves 30 patrons, has been ordered closed Dec. 31 by the Postal Department.

20th Century Club sponsored a special safe driving contest for Safe Driving Day. Norma Sly was awarded $5 as safest adult driver, Georgia Olsen, teen-age driver, received $3, and Jan Hayen received an award for his safe driving poster.

Marion High School seniors on the honor roll for the second six-week period of school are Carlita Bass, Stanley Ewert, Betty Ford, John Heerey, Carol Krispense, Dave Montgomery, Kay Navrat, Susan Olin, DeLoris Reed, Howard Stenzel, Lenore Wheeler, Bruce Wingerd and Rosalie Winter.
