Men of the Marion Christian Church just recently completed building an attractive outdoor fireplace, ovens, and patio on the church grounds for the special use of their young people and other church groups.
A “Court of Honor” for Marion Boy Scouts will be Monday evening in the Legion building. Up for first class badges are Steve Greenemeyer, Galen Broadstreet, and Larry Evans. Second class badges will be awarded to Bob Klose, Dick Varenhorst, and Larry Boese. Mike Childs will become a tenderfoot and Lowell Ensey, Steve Collett, and Keith Just are new candidates.
Members of the freshman class at the high school enjoyed a party and dance Saturday evening at the city building. Mrs. Robert Bratton and daughter Sue Ann were hostesses. Mrs. Harold Hauser and Mrs. Wes Summervill chaperoned the party.

Bob Kline, a 1951 graduate of Marion High School, is a member of Emporia State’s debate squad. Kline, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry R. Kline, Marion, is a sophomore majoring in business at Emporia State.
Mrs. Levi W. Brown, Tampa, collected $150 in this week’s Cash Day drawing. Roy Hett, Marion, received $50, and Mrs. Chris Christensen, $5.
