A big party is being planned for sometime in the spring and all honorably discharged veterans of military service from the Marion County area are invited to attend.

Thirty-six Marion Cub Scouts lined up for detailed inspection prior to the annual “Blue and Gold Banquet” Thursday evening. Cubmaster Max Jackson was in charge of the awards program. Pictured receiving their awards are Dan Mollnow, Tom Tucker, Max Jackson, Wayne Ewert, Jimmy Sutherland, and Larry Bratton.

Mrs. P.M. Kimball entertained with a hi-fi party Friday evening honoring her daughter Dianna’s 13th birthday. Guests included Karen Schroeder, Donna Newsom, Marsha McCartney, Sandra Jackson, Georgie Helmer, Faith Kelsey, Ronnie Druse, Tim Williams, Dennis Schroeder, Tom Good, and Steven Greenemeyer.

The triple trio from high school composed of Margaret McClain, Juanita Kelsey, Margie Bernhardt, Gaila Jost, Elda Pankratz, Maxine and LaVonda Hinz. Naomi Stenzel and Lou Wheeler sang at the Methodist church service Sunday morning.

Johnsie Just, Betty Mathews, and Frances and Delores Schafers were guests of Mrs. Ed Pientka Tuesday for a supper honoring her daughter, Joyce’s 18th birthday.

Jerry Dyck’s excellent team of eighth graders met and defeated every team in the league this year, bowing to none. They won the county tourney this week by defeating Peabody 31-17. High scorers were John Christensen 15 and Bill Webber 6. Outstanding players included Jerry Schwemmer, Gary Loveless, Ronnie Oelschlager, and Gerald Kelsey.
