Gary Hamm and Bob Leppke were painfully hurt Sunday afternoon in a coyote hunting mishap.

They drove over a low barbed wire fence while riding in an open car driven by Harold Olsen. The fence snapped at a distance from the car, whip-lashing back and striking Gary across the neck.

He was rushed to the hospital, where 31 stitches were required to close the wound.

Bob lifted his arm as a shield and was cut to the bone on his right forearm. It required nine stitches.

Both boys are recovering satisfactorily.
