Representative Ed Rees of Emporia, congressional representative for this district, was injured last Thursday afternoon when his car collided with a Santa Fe train at the crossing just east of Lost Springs. A fractured rib and a number of cuts and bruises were the extent of the injuries.

Mrs. Gene Heath entertained members of her Sunday school class at a scavenger hunt Monday evening as a farewell for the seniors of the class. Those present were Donna Jean Christensen, Loyette Hollar, Naomi McIntosh, Anne Burkholder, Patsy Harris, Bettie Holmes. Darlene Tuell, Peggy McCarty, Joan Herzet, J.D. Wright, Dean Hansen and Elton Petersen.

Mrs. James Loney Sr. and Mrs. Lloyd Davies are substituting at the Marion City Library during the temporary leave of absence of Mrs. Inez Ray.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Seifert entertained the staff of Paul Seifert Motor Company and their wives at a dinner at Coon’s Restaurant. Present were Mr. and Mrs. F.L. McGavran, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maggard, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Helmer, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Schmidt, Clifford Maggard, Virgil Weber, Orville Holder, George Heidel, Gene Boettcher, Chevrolet representative Charles Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Muck and Mr. and Mrs. Seifert.

The Blue Aces Bohemian Band of Pilsen will put on an interesting hour of entertainment for patrons of the Tri-County 4-H Fair that starts today in Herington and continues for three days.
