An ordinance published this week passes a new milk ordinance which will take effect May 1. The ordinance permits the sale of only Grade pasteurized milk in Hillsboro. No raw milk of any kind may be sold. This is the seventh city in the state to pass this type of ordinance.

“Miss Jimmy,” a three-act comedy-farce, is the annual senior play to be presented April 27 and 28. Leading roles will be played by Nora Zeller and Bud Hannaford. Supporting roles will be played by Loretta Conyers, Joyce Keazer, Dolores Razor, Vicki Barrett, June Avery, Ralph Dohner, and Don Sklenar. The play is directed by Miss Phyllis Hagel.

Laura Jane Bredemeier, Marion High School student and a member of Sunshine 4-H Club, has been chosen by the 4-H Council to represent the county at the Holstein Dairy Queen contest to be held this spring.

One of the busiest groups at the Community Guild Stunt Night Friday evening will be the “Stardusters” group composed of Joe Gamache, Mac Kreuter, and Mrs. Bob Mathiot.

Scarlet fever has made its appearance in two places in Marion County, with seven persons being taken ill according to the county health office. Mumps, however, seem to be tapering off with only four new cases reported this week.
