Mary Margaret Hannaford and Sarabel Wolf planned and successfully carried out a surprise party Tuesday evening to honor John Newcomer’s 16th birthday.
The “Mystery of the Missing Conflagration” or “Where in Blazes is the Blaze” was solved Tuesday night when the cause of the siren blast was that the telephone operator had pushed the wrong switch while turning on the City Marshal’s red call light at the intersection of Main and Third Sts.
The following Girl Scouts are preparing to leave for a week at Camp Mary Dell: Alda Ratts, Judy Coons, Linda Johnson, Carmen Siebert, Billie Herbert, Maymie Swehla, Jeanette Russell, Pat Dixon, Nancy Keazer, Connie Long, Kay Navrat, and LeNore Wheeler.
