New to Kansas car owners this year is the state-shaped tag and the letters MN in place of the county number, 23, used for the past several years. The metal is heavier and it was announced that instead of a complete new tag the tags will be used again next year with a small metal tag to fit over the year designation.

One of the highlights of the pre-Christmas season will take place Sunday evening when the Community Guild presents “And the Angels Sang” at the City Auditorium.

Arthur Schlehuber and Charles Batt have purchased the Midwest Tractor Sales and Service Agency from Melvin Fritch and will continue to operate it as in the past. Harold Ewert will remain on the staff as shop man.

The entire grade school will take part in “A Christmas Carol Pageant” next Monday evening. The production is directed by Miss Bonnie Paisley with Miss Ethel Gillig directing the kindergarten portion.

The annual Kiwanis-sponsored football banquet was held Tuesday evening in the basement of the city building. Coach E.M. “Irish” Ireland announced that seven seniors, 13 juniors, and two sophomores of the 1950 Marion High School football squad earned letters this year.

The junior class play cast was entertained at a party Friday evening at the Ira Newcomer home. Those present included Claire Hyde, Mary Hannaford, Mary Ann Skibbe, Dorothy Sandwell, Sarabel Wolf, Bill McKibben, David Leppke, John Newcomer, James Propp, and Dan Brodhead.
