Marion County has followed a national trend in shrinkage of bank assets. Total deposits in the county dropped almost $900,000, according to statements of county banks after an April 12 call. Total assets are $11,541,565.

Band concerts, religious programs, local talent spiced with numbers from Tabor, and an outstanding motion picture are planned May 2 to 9 in observance of Music Week.

Forty Marion residents representing all organizations of the community met in the city building Tuesday to plan Clean-up, Paint-up, and Fix-up Weeks to be observed May 3 to 15.

A junior high school athletic banquet Saturday night at the City Building saw athletic awards go to Dan Brodhead, Don Burkholder, Harold Byram, Eugene Christensen, Irvin Eitzen, Ted Heath, Billy McKibbin, James Miesse, Carl Neuhauser, John Newcomer, Dennis Richards, Leroy Roberts, Joe Soyez, Larry Stenzel, Jerry Tuell, and David Wheeler,

Clair Hyde was crowned queen, and Dennis Richards was chosen as king. Attendants were Mary Margaret Hannaford, Jack Lais, Billy McKibbin, Ronald Post, Shirley Tiemeier, and Charlene Youk.
