Marion’s beautiful trees, a prize asset in any city, are getting a shot in the arm this week with war being declared against tree-destroying insects of all kinds. Tree banding service is available now at a nominal cost, and a spraying program is contemplated for spring.
Announcement is made this week by airport manager Virgil Hoopes that arrangements have been made to keep the north-south strip at the airport lighted for the accommodation of evening and night flyers.
Mrs. Charles Davis will present these dance students in a short program Monday evening at a Coterie Club meeting: Margie Bernhardt, Vickie Black, Billy Herbert, Kay Navrat, and Karen Shull.
A cake walk and bingo games scheduled for the evening of Feb. 24 at Brown School have been postponed until a later date because of bad roads.
The operetta “Cinderella” will be presented Friday evening, March 11, in the high school auditorium by the children of Bown-Corby School. The little actors are working hard on their production, according to Maude Thompson, and expect to put on a cute show.
