An ordinance taking effect May 1 will permit the sale of only pasteurized milk in Hillsboro. No raw milk of any kind may be sold. Hillsboro was the seventh city in the state to pass this type of ordinance.
“Miss Jimmy,” a three-act farce, will be the annual senior play to be presented April 27 and 28. Leading roles will be played by Nora Zeller and Bud Hannaford. Supporting roles will be played by June Avery, Vicki Barrett, Loretta Conyers, Ralph Dohner, Joyce Keazer, Dolores Razor, and Don Sklenar. The play is being directed by Phyllis Hagel.
Laura Jane Bredemeier, Marion High School student and a member of Sunshine 4-H Club, has been chosen by the 4-H Council to represent the county at the Holstein Dairy Queen contest this spring.
One of the busiest groups Friday at the Community Guild Stunt Night will be the “Stardusters” group, composed of Joe Gamache, Mac Kreuter, and Mrs. Bob Mathiot.
Scarlet fever has made its appearance in two places in Marion County, with seven people being taken ill, according to the county health office. Mumps seem to be tapering off with only four new cases reported this week.
