One of the great combinations in the 1950 crop of high school football teams is the line of the Marion Warriors. Members of the line include Harold Byram, Eugene Christensen, Dale Ecker, Don Ecker, Earl Grimes, Don Hayen, Ted Heath, Robert Kline, James Miesse, Dennis Richards, Ralph Richmond, and James Propp.
Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion celebrated its 50th anniversary Sunday, Nov. 12. Several special programs were planned for the day.
A Cub Scout den mothers’ meeting Friday included Mrs. Lynn Christensen, Mrs. Edward Good, Mrs. Amos Henry, Mrs. Ed Rittel, and Mrs. Ruben Winter.
Four students from Marion are enrolled at the University of Wichita for the fall semester. They are Donna Christensen, daughter of Chris Christensen; Loyette Hollar, daughter of Frank L. Hollar; Donald Kirchner, son of A.L. Kirchner; and George Shields, son of Mrs. Eleanor Klein.
Summer suddenly ended when people woke Friday morning to find a blanket of snow over everything. The temperature dropped to 25 degrees, and there was about a quarter of an inch of moisture.
