Methvin, Mercer honored

Marion High School has named Jessica Methvin and Kadon Mercer its monthly champions of character.

According to athletic director Jason Hett, Jessica Methvin consistently demonstrates an outstanding work ethic, approaching every task with focus and determination.

She shows genuine care for her teammates, always encouraging and leading by example and has stepped out of her comfort zone by taking on new challenges with a positive attitude and a willingness to grow.

Kadon Mercer consistently shows a positive and respectful attitude toward teachers and coaches, according to Hett, He leads by example through his willingness to listen, learn, and respond with kindness and humility. Hett says he has shown great perseverance by pushing through difficulties with determination and a never-give-up mindset that makes him a strong role model for others.
