MFA supports Tampa sharing

MFA Oil Foundation out of Columbia, Missouri, has awarded a $2,000 grant to outfit a building that provides medical equipment for residents in Tampa
The $2,000 will be used for a handrail, electrical supplies, lights, outlets and climate control, MFA chairman James Greer said.
The foundation which has been around for almost 30 years provides grants to help private rural infrastructure.
“We only give to nonprofit organizations,” Greer said.
“We give $2,000 or less depending on what the request is.”
In Tampa’s case a 12x24 square-foot building on city property and will be used to retrofit a medical equipment building.
The building will be used as a medical closet for members of the community, Greer said. Crutches and other medical equipment will be included.
The foundation works to improve communities where MFA has a significant concentration of members and employees.
Since the foundation was established in 1998, it has awarded more than $3 million.
MFA Oil Co. was formed in 1929. The farmer, owned cooperative is the ninth largest propane retailer in the United States.
It supplies fuels, lubricants, and propane to customers in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas. Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky and Tennessee,
