Marion High School girls basketball team defeated Ellinwood Tuesday, 65-35.

Marion dominated in nearly every facet of the game. Whitney Gordon was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 19 points. Gordon also added eight rebounds and five steals. Kayley Heerey scored 11 points and also notched a game-high nine assists.

The boys weren’t as lucky. The Warriors lost to Ellinwood, 49-37. The Eagles started the game with three straight 3-pointers to quickly open up a 9-0 advantage and never looked back.

The Warriors were unable to overcome a three-point scoring output in the third quarter to tighten the score.

Jordan Hett was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 15 points on 3-for-4, 3-point shooting.

Both Centre High School varsity basketball teams won against Flint Hills Christian.

CHS boys won 61-30.

The Lady Cougars also won in a decisive victory, 38-15.
