MHS JV wins final game

The Marion High School junior varsity football team closed out its season Oct. 27 with a 46-14 victory against the Southeast of Saline Trojans.

The Warriors finished 6-2 on the season.

Les Riggs capped off an amazing season with touchdown runs of 62, 53, eight, and four yards.

The defense got into the act as well with Colten Olsen returning a fumble 46 yards for the opening score.

Quarterback Matt Sprowls chipped in with a three-yard touchdown run, and Colten Johnson capped off the scoring with a 43-yard score.

“It was a great effort for the season and the players did a great job of preparing for each week’s game,” varsity head coach Grant Thierolf said. “It was a tremendous amount of improvement over last year and we are very pleased as a coaching staff.”
