Ann Leppke will be MHS STUCO sponsor

Two Marion High School supplemental athletic positions were filled Monday night at the Marion-Florence USD 408 board of education meeting.

Jerry Hett was named assistant boys’ basketball coach and Ann Carr was named assistant softball coach.

Hett, whose sons, Elliot and Isaac are members of the varsity squad, will be the head freshman coach as well.

Carr, twin sister of USD 408 board of education member Jan Helmer, will assist head coach Sandy Black.

Each coach will make a stipend of $1,648 for completing his or her duties.

The final supplemental assignment was the hiring of Marion Middle School science teacher Ann Leppke as MHS student council sponsor.

Leppke, who is a part-time aquatics director for the district and wife of USD 408 board member Lyle Leppke, will receive a stipend of $665 for her time as sponsor.
