MHS stays in county to run at Peabody

The Marion High School cross country team will compete Thursday at the Peabody-Burns meet.

Louis Holt and Ryan Jones will try for their third straight top-10 finishes (Jones has taken second at both meets this season), and the Warrior girls look to be fully healthy for the first time this season.

“I look forward to Peabody,” MHS head coach Bethany Carlson said. “We will have great competition.”

Neither team was at full strength this past Thursday at Hesston, with three girls and two boys missing from competition.

Carlson said the team should be closer to full strength when the gun sounds at Peabody.

Teams with middle school squads, such as Marion, also will be competing with a start time of 3:30 p.m.

The varsity races will begin at 4 p.m.
