Marion High School students will present the comedy, “Arsenic and Old Lace,” Friday and Saturday at USD 408 Performing Arts Center, Marion. Both productions begin at 7 p.m.
The setting of the play is based partly on a boarding house playwright Joseph Kesselring lived in while teaching at Bethel College in North Newton. A film adaptation starring Cary Grant was made in the early 1940s.
The cast includes Caroline Collett, Shayla Rahe, Derek Stuchlik, Michael Kirkpatrick, Isaac Baldwin, Nickolas Meyer, Justin Rahe, Andrew Kjellin, Sarah Guetersloh, Ryan Nelson, Dylan Goebel, Landon Leiker, E.J. Obermeyer, JayDee Schafers, and Weber Tang.
Director Janet Killough said the school hasn’t presented “Arsenic and Old Lace” in her 20 or more years working with school plays.
Tickets are available at The County Seat, 130 E. Main St., Marion, and will be available at the performing arts center. Tickets cost $3 for adults and $2 for children younger than 12.
