Marion High School will be the site of a 16-team 3A regional scholars’ bowl meet Feb. 3. Competition will begin at 4 p.m. in the middle and high schools.
Teams will be divided into two pools of eight teams and compete in a round-robin format tournament. The top three teams from each pool will advance to the final round robin. The top three teams in the final round will advance to the 3A state tournament, Feb. 12 at Rock Creek.
Each match consists of 16 questions on topics of foreign language, social science, language arts, math, science, fine arts, and year-in-review. The tournament is open to the public, but spectators cannot enter or leave a room while a match is in progress, nor may they talk, signal, or prompt during a match.
