Several Marion Middle School track athletes won first-place medals Thursday at the Reno Valley track meet.
Nick Meyer won the eighth-grade boys shot put, with a throw of 33 feet, 7.75 inches, and discus with a throw of 101-7. Meyer was also part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team with Clint Kroupa, Zach Lewman, and Grif Case who finished with a time of 1 minute, .2 seconds.
James Jones won the eighth-grade boys triple jump, 33-4. Taylor Heidebrecht won the 1600 with a time of 5:40.
Three eighth-grade girls won multiple first-place medals. Alyssa Edwards won the 100 with a time of 14.33, and the 200. Kellie Hess won the 400-meter in 1:06. Katey Ehrlich won the triple jump, bounding 28-7.
Ehrlich, Edwards, and Hess teamed with Megan Richmond to form a first-place relay teams. They won the medley relay, 2:08, and the 4x200 with a time of 2:00.
Abbey Smith also won the eighth-grade high jump, with a height of 4-4.
Kyle Palic won the seventh-grade boys shot put, with a throw of 31-6. Jacob Baldwin won the triple jump, with a leap of 27-10.
