MMS Wildcats end season on winning note

The Marion Middle School Wildcats defeated Inman 20-0 Thursday to end with a 3-5 season record.

The first Wildcat touchdown came in the second quarter when Nathan Cyr took the handoff from Bret Foth and passed to Kyle Palic who raced into the end zone. The two-point conversion was successful.

Later in the second quarter Marion recovered a fumble in the Inman side of the field. On the next play Adam Janzen scored a touchdown on a 32-yard run. The two-point conversion try was unsuccessful.

In the waning minutes of the second quarter Janzen intercepted a pass and returned it to the Inman 5-yard line. With 3.4 seconds left, Marion was unable to score.

The final touchdown came in the fourth quarter when Zach Dvorak intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

Marion stopped a drive by Inman late in the fourth quarter to maintain the shutout.
