Gary Mott and Joyce Remmers married on June 3, 1926, in Marion. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise trip to Branson, Mo., hosted by their children and families.

They lived in Wichita for the first 12 years of their marriage, then they moved to Manhattan, where Gary worked for Kansas Farm Bureau and Joyce worked for Surgical Associates until retirement.

They have three children, Kevin Mott of Topeka, Darrin Mott of Gardner, and Alison Denney of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
