Centre senior Nellie Kassebaum earned a trip to the state cross-country meet by finishing 11th in regional varsity girls’ competition Saturday at Leonardville.

She ran the course in 20 minutes and 4 seconds.

“Nellie has worked extremely hard for the past two years to reach this point,” coach Cindy Riedel said. “I’m proud of her hard work and dedication.”

The state meet is Saturday at Wamego.

C.J. Thompson, a freshman, ran in the boys’ varsity race. He placed 25th at 21:42.
