Leiker: No decision on summer school yet

Marion USD 408 Superintendent Lee Leiker said Monday that a rumor summer school would be cut this year was premature.

“Like any other cut being considered, summer school is not a cut we want to make, but we are running out of options,” Leiker said in an email. “Thus, summer school, like many other things, is being considered, but none of these have gone to the board yet. That will happen at the May meeting.”

Leiker said he has met with principals, who have in turn discussed ideas with staff, but no recommendation has been made to the school board.
