No school? No problem! Here’s homework

Once the novelty of skipping school begins wearing off, here’s something young people of all ages — even whole families — can tackle together.

Instead of cursing the media. Do it better. Create a public-service advertisement for a favorite non-political cause.

It can be anything from a slice of local history that readers might not know about or appreciate to a helpful guide that that gives people tips about topics other than coronavirus or even a plea to support some favorite charitable cause.

The topic is up to you. Do your research. Figure out how to make it interesting to people who read the paper. Create a brief write-up, then design a page with original images you create.

The contest is open to individuals and groups — something for the whole family that’s educational, fun, and more meaningful than playing video games or binge-watching videos.

If we find one or more winning entries, we’ll help you finalize the writing and design and publish the finished product in the paper, complete with full credit to you or your team. You might even qualify for a prize.

For more information or to submit an entry, call (620) 382-2165 during normal business hours, write to us at 117 S. 3rd St., Marion KS 66861, or email us at homework@mnks.us.

Make good use of your time and get family and friends involved in something positive by entering our public-service contest.
