Nominations for judge sought

The 8th Judicial District is seeking nominations to fill the position of magistrate Margaret White, who will retire Jan. 1.

To be considered, a nominee must live in Morris County at the time of taking and holding office, be a graduate of high school or secondary school, and be a lawyer admitted to practice or able to pass an examination to become certified within 18 months.

Nomination forms are available from the district court clerk offices in Marion, Morris, Dickinson, and or Geary counties; or online at https://www.kscourts.org/KSCourts/media/KsCourts/Judges/Nominating-Commissions/8th-Nomination-Form.pdf.

After serving one year in office, the magistrate must stand for a retention vote in the next general election.
