Bruce and Cheryl Dirks went to Colorado Springs Dec. 7. They conducted services at the church at Calhoun on the 8th and 9th, then went to Phoenix, Ariz., for mission board meetings on the 11th and 12th. On the way home, they visited former Durham area residents, Terry and Barb Hiebert and family at El Paso, Texas. They ran into a very severe dust storm in Texas. They were Dec. 14 overnight guests of Arden and Judy Wiebe at Texhoma, Texas. The next day they attended the wedding of Bruce’s niece, Cheris Johnson, daughter of Gavin and Donalee Johnson, to Philip Duerksen of Manitoba. The Dirks returned home that evening.

Cottonwood Grove Christian School had its program Dec. 19. They had a Christmas party at the school before dismissing for the holiday break.

The youth of Morning Star Church were busy caroling the past week which was appreciated. The weather has been great to be out and about, spreading joy to all.

Lola Redger and Jaraine went to Hillsboro Dec. 13 to visit Darlene Unruh at Parkside Homes.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe went to Inman Dec. 11 to visit Betty’s cousin, Bonnie Koehn, at Pleasant View Home. The Wiebes enjoyed a catered supper at the school south of Galva on the 14th. It was the annual Christmas dinner for Moundridge Manor employees and board members.

A good crowd enjoyed an evening of food, tram rides, visiting, and treats for the children Dec. 15 in Durham.
