NORTHWEST OF DURHAM: A Cottonwood Grove School Christmas

Cottonwood Grove School had a Christmas program for its family and friends Dec. 18, and students sang Christmas songs Dec. 19 for residents at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. Afterward, students returned to school where they played games, exchanged gifts, and ate lunch.

Roy and Nadine Davis, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, and Calla Wengar took food to the home of Leah Wedel and dined with her the evening of Dec. 17.

Tom and Sara Penner and family of Swan River Manitoba and Chris and Denise Shrock and family of Orville, Ohio, arrived at the home of their parents, Larry and Wanda Koehn, to spend the holidays with them and family. They had an extended family dinner Dec. 21 at Moundridge Manor with Crystal Koehn. The Tim Koehn family, Dalton Wiebe family, Travis Koehn family, and Titus and Chelsea Koehn attended.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, the Tim Koehn family, Travis Koehn family, and Dalton Wiebe family presented the Sunday morning service Dec. 21 at Moundridge Manor and Mercy Hospital.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe invited Sandy Wiebe, Heath and Tanis Dirks and Jackson, Orlin and Betty Rose Wiggers of Halstead, Dave and Carolyn Yost of Moundridge, and Bruce and Cheryl Dirks of Milliken, Colorado, over for dinner Dec. 21.

Durham Senior Citizens had their Christmas potluck Dec. 17 at the Community Building. Twenty-one people attended. After guests Steve and Nita Noble gave a talk, everyone sang Christmas songs.

Rudy and Eulalia Schroeder family were hosts for a Duerksen family Christmas gathering the evening of Dec. 22 at Goessel City Building. A potluck meal and Christmas goodies were served. Maynard Knepp and Carol Duerksen spoke about their recent trip to Palestine and Israel. Those attending from the Durham area included Ron and Dora Unruh, Mark and Barb Unruh and Sarah, Warren and Anita Unruh and Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna.
