The Lincolnville Octoberfest committee has come up with a variety of new activities for its Oct. 3 celebration.
A turkey shoot will take place at noon along Seventh Street at the north end of town. Cost will be $5 for five ham, turkey, and money shots, and $3 for five bacon shots.
The grand prize winner will receive a guided upland bird hunt in southwest Kansas, donated by Tallgrass Outfitters, LLC. Many other prizes will be awarded.
A kids’ shoot for children 12 and over, accompanied by an adult, will feature five free shots, and five more can be added for $1. Prizes will be awarded.

Marion County Economic Development is sponsoring a 3 p.m. performance by folk singer Elexa Dawson, Emporia, on-stage in the park. Jammin’ Biscuits, a Christian bluegrass group, will perform at noon.
Mule and buggy rides will be available beginning at 1 p.m.
A James Weber Benefit coed softball tournament will begin at the ball diamond at 9 a.m. A coed volleyball tournament will begin in the park at 1 p.m.
A full schedule of meals will be served at Lincolnville Community Center: breakfast sponsored by the Centre High School Class of 2012, soup lunch provided by Lincolnville United Methodist Church, and Relay for Life supper at 5:30 p.m.
The “Think Pink and Green” parade is at 11 a.m. on Main Street. Registration is 10 a.m. at Main and Lombard. To enter, contact Dawn Kaiser, (620) 924-5574.
An 8 p.m. dance at the community center will feature disc jockey Jason Demars. Admission will be $5 for singles and $8 per couple. Children 12 years and under will be admitted free with a paid adult.
Ten percent of proceeds from the day’s activities will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
