Criminal damage to property
An unknown person or event caused the back passenger window of a vehilce, valued at $200, to shatter between 7 p.m. Aug. 21 and 6 p.m. Aug. 23 outside a Hillsboro woman’s residence in the 700 block of S. Ash. St. Police reports did not specify the make or model of the woman’s car.

Burglary
Dana Wolford, 50, Hillsboro, reported July 21 the theft of a 20-gauge shotgun, Marlin 33, Daisy BB gun, Makita hand saw, cattle clippers, cattle hair dryer, from her residence on Jade Rd. between 250th and 260th Rds. between noon and 12:50 p.m. July 20. Police reported forced entry, and a window was damaged at her residence. The items were valued at $600.
Aggravated assault
Shaun Hiebert, 36, Lehigh, reported an aggravated assault that happened between 5:56 and 5:58 p.m. Aug. 2 at his residence in the 200 block of E. Main St. between him and an acquaintance. The incident was reported Aug. 20.
Firearms
Sheriff deputy Wilma Mueller reported Aug. 7 an unlawful discharge of a shotgun in the 100 block of Fifth St. in Florence that reportedly happened between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
Identity Theft
Christopher Scott, 56, Hillsboro, reported attempted identity theft Aug. 25 between midnight of April 22 and 2:27 p.m. of Aug. 25.
Criminal damage to property
Brent Unruh, Council Grove, reported a case of misdemeanor criminal damage to an electric meter at an abandoned building on 20th Rd. between Remington and Sunflower Rds. on Aug. 24. It reportedly happened between 5 p.m. Aug. 21 and 9:44 a.m. Aug. 24. Police reported no signs of forced entry.
Criminal trespass
Janice Meliza, 62, Marion, reported Aug. 23 a case of criminal trespass at her residence in the 2100 block of Schotthauer St. The trespass was reported to have happened between 8:50 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Aug. 22.
