According to law enforcement reports released this weekend:

Criminal trespass, criminal damage
Rodney Richmond of rural Marion reported that an estimated 4,000 sunflowers were damaged between 6 a.m. July 9 and 8 p.m. July 10.
The damage occurred in a field southwest of 210th Rd. and aptly named Sunflower Rd. Richmond’s loss was estimated at $50.
Hillsboro
Criminal damage to property
Charges of criminal damage to property are pending against an 18-year-old Hillsboro man who allegedly broke a street sign off its pole at 1st and Main Sts.
Marion
Possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and transporting an open container of alcohol
Seth Stroda, 25, Salina, was arrested on suspicion of transporting an open container of alcohol, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a defective tail lamp at 1:35 a.m. Friday near Ridge Rd. and US-56.
After officer Mike Stone allegedly saw an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and smelled marijuana, a search by canine officer Legion allegedly discovered 1 gram of marijuana oil, a smoking kit, and a wooden stash box with a combined value of $200,
Speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol
While assisting sheriff’s deputies with an unrelated traffic stop, officer Mike Stone allegedly observed Matthew Gehring, 27, Hillsboro, traveling 93 mph in a 55mph zone at 1:35 a.m. Sunday at 290th and Pawnee Rds.
Gehring was arrested on suspicion of speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol
