These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Theft

A John Deere skid steer owned by Fuqua Construction of Inman and valued at $30,000 was reported stolen between 2:45 p.m. May 13 and 7:37 a.m. May 14 from a parking lot at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, 1304 K-15.

MARION

Possession of drugs and stolen property

A search warrant executed at 3:20 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of N. Cedar St. led to the arrest of two people on drug and theft charges.

Seized in the search were 2.4 grams of methamphetamine, 7.4 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an impact driver, two batteries, and a tool bag that had been reported stolen in a burglary March 11 in the 100 block of S. 2nd St.

Matthew L. Bice, 37, Marion, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possessing stolen property.

Patricia L. Miller, 40, Marion, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Criminal damage

Gary W. Carpenter, 56, a frequent critic on social media of people he regards as habitual drug offenders, reported that one of his vehicle’s tires had been slashed while the vehicle was parked between 8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of S. Cedar St. Damage was estimated at $240.

Sandra Koehn, 50, reported that, during the same period, a vandal did $50 damage to a bird bath and $250 damage to the passenger door of a 2006 Lincoln Town Car at a residence in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Despite the similar time frame, police chief Clinton Jeffrey said no evidence had emerged suggesting the two vandalisms were related.

PEABODY

Theft

A rabbit valued at $1,000 was reported stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 1:21 p.m. May 10 from near the residence of Devon McGonigill in the 800 block of N. Vine St. No signs of forced entry were found.
