Drunken driving, other charges

Two Tabor College athletes were detained early Saturday after a car in which they were riding was observed driving left of center in the 600 block of N. Adams St.

Sophomore basketball guard Leon N. Srisamutr, 22, of Hillsboro, whose hometown is listed on Tabor sports rosters as Manchester, England, was taken to Marion County Jail on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, transporting an open container of alcohol, having expired vehicle registration, and failing to drive on the right side of the road.

Charges of underage drinking are pending against a second player, identified in police radio broadcasts as freshman guard Jack Taylor, originally of Wichita.

Sriasmutr was released shortly after noon Saturday on $2,500 surety bond. According to radio broadcasts, their car was removed by an unidentified third party.
