These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
Burglary, trespassing
More than two dozen tools, together valued at $2,214, were reported stolen between 7:45 and 11:26 p.m. July 28 from Kevin L. Koehn’s residence on 120th Rd. between Jade and Kanza Rds.
No signs of forced entry were reported.
Among the items reported stolen were an impact driver, a chain saw, an oscillating saw, a pressure washer, a rotary tool, toolboxes, a fuel can, and numerous other hand tools.
Possession of stimulants, paraphernalia
A trace amount of white residue, a glass pipe, a plastic bag, and a syringe cap were seized at 10:29 p.m. Aug. 7 after an arrest in a parking lot at Flying Eagle Truck Stop, Florence.
According to monitored radio transmissions, deputies had been looking for Brandon S. Toon, 38, Florence, wanted on six warrants for failing to appear in court.
A resident informed them Toon had been seen walking toward the truck stop. A deputy arrived, arrested and searched him, resulting in new allegations of possession of stimulants (typically methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia.
Toon and released four days later after posting a $10,000 surety bond.
HILLSBORO
Domestic battery
Investigation of a disconnected 911 call resulted in arrest of a 59-year-old man suspected of having hit and injured his 70-year-old common-law spouse during a drunken quarrel.
Assistant chief Randall Brazil reported that his follow-up of the call, received at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the 300 block of N. Lincoln St., led him to the caller, who told him she had quarreled with her boyfriend and that he had hit her.
Brazil reported noting signs of injury and evidence that the suspect had been drinking. He arrested James E. Johnson on suspicion of domestic battery. Johnson was booked into county jail and released less than an hour later after posting a $2,500 surety bond.
Possible domestic battery
In a delayed report, a 55-year-old man told police at 11:46 p.m. Thursday that his wife had grabbed him by the shirt at a residence in the 300 block of N. Adams St.
The case was referred to the county attorney’s office for a determination of whether charges would be filed.
Underage drunken driving
A 19-year-old Tabor College athlete from the United Kingdom was arrested on alcohol charges after officer John Huebert stopped his vehicle for allegedly speeding and running a stop sign at 1:36 a.m. Saturday at D and Ash Sts.
Samuel J. Butler, 19, a freshman forward from Worchester, England, on last season’s Tabor soccer team, was booked into county jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, consumption of alcohol by a minor, speeding, and failing to stop at a stop sign. He was released around noon after posting a $2,500 surety bond.
Interlock tampering, driving with revoked license
Samuel I. Reffett, 40, Hillsboro was arrested and taken to county jail after he was stopped at 7:56 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block S. Ash St.
He is suspected of driving while his license was revoked, operating a vehicle without a required anti-drinking interlock, and tampering with or disabling the interlock.
He was released three hours later after posting a $2,500 surety bond.
Drunken driving
A driver stopped for allegedly speeding at 10:29 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of S. Ash St. was arrested on suspicion of an additional charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Sabrina L. Hessel, 27, Hillsboro, was released from county jail an hour later after posting a $2,500 surety bond.
