These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Criminal damage, trespass

An intruder who broke into Elizabeth M. and Allan L. Patterson’s residence in the 600 block of Main St. in Florence Sept. 24 did an estimated $280 damage to an air conditioner and a bedroom door.

Theft, criminal damage

A Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks utility terrain vehicle was damaged and a second was stolen between 4 p.m. Sept. 25 and 11:45 a.m. Sept. 26 at a Marion Reservoir recreation area near 210th and Mustang Rds. Total loss was estimated at $38,000.

HILLSBORO

Telecommunications harassment

A stranger reportedly made sexual comments during a telephone call at 10 a.m. Sept. 23 to a 50-year-old female employee of Hillsboro Public Library.

Theft

In a report delayed 2½ years, a manager at Great Plains Federal Credit Union, 110 W. D St., told police Sept. 26 that someone had withdrawn $10,000 on Feb. 26, 2020, from the credit union’s Hillsboro branch after having deposited a fraudulent check covering that amount at a McPherson branch. The theft was reported to McPherson police in 2020. Investigation is continuing.

Theft

A 1999 Dodge Ram pickup and a 2013 Aluma trailer, together valued at $12,206 by owner Ag Service Inc., 1830 Kanza Rd., were stolen at 6 a.m. Thursday from behind Car Quest, 603 Orchard Dr.

The trailer and the truck, which police said sustained considerable damage, were recovered Friday at an undisclosed rural location in Harvey County. The case remains under investigation.

MARION

Criminal threat, interference with law enforcement, two violations of an order of protection

Twice in six days, a 44-year-old woman told police her former boyfriend violated an order of protection at a rental home the 100 block of Jefferson St. The second time, he also allegedly threatened her with a knife and attempted to escape capture.

The first incident occurred at 7:48 p.m. Sept. 26 and reportedly was witnessed by a 31-year-old man from Montana. The second came at 11 p.m. Sunday and reportedly was witnessed by the former boyfriend’s father.

Dustin J. Luchi, 43, Marion, was arrested early Monday after an extensive search of the vicinity by officers from Marion and Hillsboro police and the sheriff’s department. He was jailed in lieu of a $10,000 surety bond.

Tax records indicate that the 946-square-foot, 1910 residence, valued at $23,900, is owned by Marion resident Brenda Boone.

Domestic battery, trespassing, criminal damage

Alcohol and drug use are suspected in an incident in which a 39-year-old woman reported that she hit in the face at 6 p.m. Sept. 29 by an unwelcome former boyfriend who earlier had been ordered to leave her rental residence in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St.

He also allegedly began throwing around her belongings, causing damage estimated at $2 to a coffeemaker.

Clinton L. Richmond, 36, Marion, was arrested and jailed in lieu of a $5,000 surety bond.

Tax records indicate that the 840-square-foot, 1920 residence, valued at $14,280, is owned by Marion County Lake resident Richard P. Blount.
