HILLSBORO

Meth possession

An estimated 3.5 grams of methamphetamine — enough for 140 medical doses— was discovered during search of a vehicle stopped at 7:35 a.m. Nov. 14 at Salem Home, 704 S. Ash St., because its driver was suspected of having a suspended license.

Mathew L. Bice, 38, Newton was jailed on suspicion of possession of stimulants and driving while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked. He remained in county jail in lieu of posting a $5,000 surety bond.

Theft

Two bottles of scotch liquor — a 1.75-liter bottle of Jim Daniels valued at $55 and a 0.75-liter bottle of Aberlour valued at $120 — were reported shoplifted at 4:58 p.m. Sunday from R&D Liquor, 500 Western Heights Circle.
