OFFENSES
REPORTED
These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
HILLSBORO
Violation of protective order
A 30-year-old woman with an active order of protection against her former husband reported receiving a letter from him in violation of the order at 11 a.m. Dec. 27 at her residence in the 500 block of E. Grand Ave.
Police identified her ex-husband as Eddie Eaves Jr., an inmate at Norton Correctional Facility, where he has been incarcerated since June after being convicted of sexual exploitation of a 14-year-old girl in March 2021 in McPherson County.
MARION
Domestic battery
Eric S. Lilak, 42, Salina, was arrested after police were called, according to monitored transmissions, at 8:21 p.m. Christmas Eve to a report of a domestic dispute at a rental home, owned by Theron D. Nienstedt, in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St.
Lilak remained in county jail this week in lieu of posting a $1,500 surety bond.
Although offense reports are open public records — and so state in capital letters on the form — Marion police declined to provide a copy to the newspaper. The victim was identified in monitored transmissions only as a female.
Theft
Katherine A. Young, 66, Marion, reported that a wheel barrow valued at $150 was reported stolen sometime before 10 a.m. Dec. 28 from her residence.
Although offense reports are open public records — and so state in capital letters on the form — Marion police redacted the location of her residence, which according to appraisal records and monitored police transmissions is in the 1000 block of E. Lawrence St.
