Chris D. Carr of Peabody reported that a Massey loader tractor owner by Brock Baker of Wichita and parked in a field near 50th and Nighthawk Rds. sustained $1,500 damage between 8 a.m. March 31 and 1 p.m. April 4.

Marion

Criminal damage

A vandal who turned on a water faucet between 7 p.m. March 30 and 7 a.m. March 31 outside a home in the 1200 block of Maple St. caused an estimated $8,600 in damage when water filled a window well and flooded the home’s basement.

Homeowner Mark A. Hall, 63, listed damage to carpeting and padding, a computer, a cordless drill and charger, camping bedding, and a paper shredder.

Although not involving a basement, a similar incident last year flooded a resident’s backyard with six inches of water, interim police chief Duane McCarty said.
