REPORTED

These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Burglary, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia

Building and plumbing supplies valued at $840 were reported stolen between noon and 1:20 p.m. Sept. 8 from Dean F. Snelling’s residence in the 100 block of S. State St. in Goessel.

Deputy Bruce Burke’s report said the burglar was suspected of using drugs. Drug paraphernalia was recovered in the investigation.

Samantha N. Schmidt, 37, Goessel, was arrested in connection with the case. She was jailed on suspicion of burglary and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was released three days later after posting a $10,000 bond.

Theft

A rifle valued at $2,000 was reported stolen between July 12 and Sept. 12 from a building at Garry P. Vogel’s farm near Marion Dam.

Deputy Bruce Burke’s report does not indicate whether there were signs of forced entry.

Aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated child endangerment

Jadeann R. Lloyd Gamer, age not disclosed, suffered apparent minor injuries during an argument with her boyfriend at 2:59 a.m. Sept. 12 at her rented home in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St. in Marion.

According to monitored transmissions and statements by sheriff’s deputies, the boyfriend attempted to strangle her, pointed a gun at her, made emotionally disturbed comments, and took off with the gun in a former police car before returning to the house.

Undersheriff Larry Starkey said a 1-year-old girl was in the home at the time.

The victim was checked by Marion ambulance attendants but declined to be taken to a hospital.

Hugh R. Mulhern, 20, Marion, was arrested in connection with the incident. He was jailed on suspicion of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and aggravated child endangerment. He was released three days later after posting a $15,000 surety bond.

Sheriff’s deputies investigated because no Marion police were on duty. The house is owned by Shirley Carlson of Marion.

Burglary

Twenty bales of hay, valued at $400, were reported stolen Sept. 13, 14, or 15 from Marilyn C. Jones’s farmhouse on 59th Rd. south of Peabody.

Burglary

A vehicle of an undisclosed nature, iron, and a hydraulic press, together valued at $900, were reported stolen between 6:20 p.m. Sept. 15 and 9:20 a.m. Sept. 16 from Pease Family Farm Welding, 203 S. Maple St., Peabody.

A door handle and padlock, together valued at $140, were reported damaged in the burglary.

Theft

A 10-round Ruger LCP .380 automatic pistol with a two-inch barrel, a leather holster, and a mini-bike, together valued at $1,050, were reported stolen between 7:08 p.m. Sept. 17 and 12:50 a.m. Sept. 18 at Nathan K. Amstutz’s farmhouse near 140th and Falcon Rds.

No signs of forced entry were reported, and deputy Bruce Burke’s report said the theft occurred as part of criminal buying or selling activity.
