These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
Aggravated burglary
No items were reported as stolen and no force was reported as used, but Maria E. Bell reported that someone tried at 6:24 a.m. Sept. 30 to invade her home in the 300 block of County Rd. in Tampa.
According to monitored transmissions, the intruder pulled on the screen of her back door. Dispatchers told deputies Bell told them she was armed with a handgun.
HILLSBORO
Driving under the influence and with a suspended license
Tricia A. Marshall, 60, Hillsboro, was arrested after her 2024 Kia erratically sped by a Hillsboro officer on US-56 at 12:43 a.m. Sunday and ended up at Casey’s General Store.
Joined by two sheriff’s deputies, the officer attempted to administer a field sobriety test, but the driver allegedly refused to cooperate and provided a California driver’s license that was listed as suspended or revoked.
She was booked into county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding, and driving while her license was canceled, suspended, or revoked.
She was released 32 hours later after posting a $2,500 bond.
MARION
Vehicle theft, vehicle burglaries, criminal damage, theft
A truck valued at $10,000, a credit card, and $43 in cash were reported stolen between 3:05 and 4:20 a.m. Sept. 22 from three residents of Hilltop Manor apartments, according to reports released Monday.
Police found no signs of forced entry.
Mark A. Putter reported that his truck was stolen from outside his apartment. Stephanie K. Classen reported loss of $3 from her vehicle. Robert D. Magathan reported loss of a credit card and $40 from his vehicle.
In what police think was a related incident, an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen between 2:20 and 2:30 a.m. the same day from a coin machine at Kevin E. Burkholder’s self-service car wash at 201 S. 3rd St.
Surveillance video from the area is being reviewed to help identify a suspect.
Criminal damage, burglary
Locks valued at $10 were damaged by someone who attempted to break in between 8 p.m. Sept. 19 and 3 p.m. Sept. 23 to storage units in the 400 block of Forest St. owned by James Weidenbener of Newton and rented by Bruce E. George and Alisha Brewer of Marion, according to a report released Monday.
Fleeing police, reckless driving, speeding, driving without a license
As was reported in a news story last week, Joshua G. French, 18, Marion, was arrested after police attempted to stop his 2007 Chevrolet C15 for speeding at 6:33 p.m. Oct. 1 near Main and Elm Sts.
A brief pursuit ended near Main and Walnut Sts., where the westbound truck ran off the road to the right, striking a railing around a fire hydrant on the northeast corner of the intersection.
The truck then turned north and drove off the road to the left, striking a no-parking sign and a telephone conduit box near Wagon Wheel Express restaurant.
French was apprehended on foot minutes later near the Marion County Transfer Station.
He was booked into county jail on suspicion of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, criminal damage to property, driving without a valid license, and failing to stop at an accident. He was released 17½ hours later without posting a bond.
Aggravated domestic battery
Drinking is suspected of playing a role in a violent argument at 8:28 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St.
Justin L. Chrisjohn, 47, is suspected of striking his wife, Melissa, 46, several times in the face and of pushing his mother, Linda S. Church, 69, who is co-owner of the home.
According to officer Dustin Woodford’s report, Church was uninjured, and Melissa Chrisjohn suffered apparent minor injuries.
Justin Chrisjohn was jailed on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, and failing to appear in court. Initially held in lieu of a $10,000 bond, he was released Monday after his bond amount was reduced and he posted a $2,500 bond.
